I do hope it is not a re-run of 12 months ago from everybody's sake.

So overnight it seems the other 8 a/c have had their ferry flights cancelled for the time being and are on standby in DOH...

Exclusive: Qatar Airways are once again sending ten Airbus A320's over to London + crew, in order to operate for British Airways.
2 x Qatar Airways A320s (A7-LAC & A7-LAH) have already positioned to London Stansted with flight crew & cabin crew - 8 more A320s to follow

Why are they heading to Stansted and not direct to Heathrow?

May I congratulate DAZ on your news as one who was connected with the media for most of my working life, there is nothing like getting an exclusive story. More room at Stansted than Heathrow for the aircraft to be kept until when needed.

Thank you Compton
However I don't have the full story as I am unaware of any planned strike action by BA
So I guess I will have to dig a little deeper unles anyone else has any idea what's going on.

Well done...& no..only suppositions which your "scoop" has put aside...Still raises questions tho...London stated as intended destination does that make it then firstly to STN or to LHR?..

Or perhaps a regulatory body has requested the services of the national airline who in turn have charted the a/c from QR ! - but for what purpose ?. I'm not aware of any imminent strike action nor any Pilot/Aircraft shortage in the BA fleet.

With an announcement reported to be imminent from Monarch is there any doubt in the renewal of it ATOL today ?

I'm not suggesting or reporting any doubt it just a question.

Damn site cheaper to park up 10 or so A320s at stansted than at Heathrow.
In fact, is there even room to get an extra unplanned 10 aircraft on the ground at Heathrow for an undetermined period of time.

Drop into STN, get a deal on parking and depart on the LAM sid when needed

Are there actually 10 A320s parked up anywhere?

Has the DM sourced the story from here?

Parking at STN would be a lot cheaper than LHR. Also where would they park 10 320's at LHR if they're not being used for the time being?

Perhaps there's another BA cabin crew strike pending?

(AlexInAir) on Twitter - who is currently in Qatar has speculated it - although given no credible source. He freelances including the Daily Fail.

With the news now more out in the open I can say I tried to hint at this yesterday and the day before dut didn't want to be shot down on here

UK Parliament Ministers are bracing for possibility that Monarch Airlines may collapse imminently Talks have been going on behind the scenes for days and even a Cobra meeting has been held.

Why would Cobra be involved - where's the UK strategic interest?

Sounds like a bit of gaming to reduce, for example, the competition scrutiny on any transfer of Gatwick slots

The twenty year old alleged analyst. I know that some pilots called him out to prove his tweets by providing sources and he threw his toys out of his pram.

From sky new

Sky Sources: The future of Monarch Airlines is in doubt as the aviation regulator decides whether to grant it a temporary licence extension

Also some news coming out (all be it on twitter) about Qatar aircraft positioned at STN are to fly as rescue flights for Monarch if a temporary licence is not given.
