A relative is looking for information on anyone who may have know the above gentleman who passed away a number of years ago

Very little is known of his RAF Career other than he started out in 1957 as a flight sergeant and became an AEO possibly on the V Force

I knew Vic from his time as a member of the 101 Sqn Association and wrote his obituary in their newsletter "101 Matters!". Victor George Sherwin died on 27th September 2012 aged 89. He joined the RAF as a WOp/AG in 1942. However, he spent most of his wartime service in a training role and left the RAF in April 1946 to fly in civil aviation. He rejoined the RAF in May 1951 and was commissioned in 1957, joining 101 Sqn at RAF Finningley. He served on 101 Sqn as a Vulcan B1/B1A AEO until August 1963 when he was posted to Boscombe Down, possibly as part of the TSR2 trials unit. After a tour in Singapore he retired from the RAF in 1969. Vic was a keen member of our Association and a regular at the reunions, last attending in 2010. Vic joined 101 Association Committee from 2005 to 2009 as welfare officer and did sterling work corresponding with members in poor health and consoling relatives of those who passed away. His valuable contribution and counselling will be missed by all who knew him.
