We need an airline to sue for costs of diversion. Perhaps, in the rougher financial territory of Covid, a carrier will at last try to set an example.

Another report suggests the cuplrit was British and will be sent back to the UK to face the music.

Don't hold your breath.

The same airline - Jet2 - made a big song and dance in June 2019 about pursuing another unruly passenger who caused a diversion. They assessed the costs at £85,000, but nothing more was heard about the damages claim, although she did get sentenced to two years in prison back in February.
