Secondment to AHK

What’s the current environment like with AHK? I’m hearing they’re worked to the max and creaking at the seams with guys stuck here and rosters with min days off.

Any AHK pilots happy to comment? Doesn’t seem very attractive to do 9 on 5 off for similar pay as just staying on the CX roster.

It’s not similar pay, on CoS 18 it is less!
AHK must be due a pay cut.

Would be hard to find a reason for a pay cut, AHK is doing fine and DHL needs the aircraft operating.

No reason required. Plenty of unemployed pilots available in HK.

CX freighter pilots got a pay cut to CosS18 despite being busy and living in an almost constant state of isolation. The 20 pilots to be seconded to AHK are only the start of their groupification.

ahk will be next, sign or terminated, plenty of airbus guys that have already signed across to cos18 at cx that would more than happily fill those seats.

exactly

Wouldn't be at all surprised to see the AHK employed pilot numbers reduced by the amount of "seconded" CX pilots in the future.

The secondment might just be an information gathering exercise as to the amount of CX pilots willing to do the job for zero extra pay.

WTF is wrong with everyone. An honest question about AHK turn into reasons they should have a paycut. Unbelievable.

Hope you don't believe what you're saying; that's bloody pessimistic.
In HKG, airlines have done permanent paycuts to contracts motivated by the fact they are losing money.
Not the case for AHK.

I don’t think they’re reasons they should have a pay cut, they’re reasons they probably will.

One thing you spoilt brats are forgetting is that if AHK was on your new “Paycut” salary it would actually be a payrise

Well that would explain why they are having problems getting crews.

ahk is part of a group, the group is assessed as a group financially, the fact that their ‘part’ of the group is doing well means nothing, the rest are not. The 747 has also been ‘doing well’ they were forced onto COS18, its just a matter of time before ahk is in the same boat, the secondment is the start, all they are doing is guaranteeing once the new cos is introduced, the operation would not be halted in the event the ahk pilots decide not to sign over.

Anyone who has been around CX for more than a few years has a deserved scepticism about any move CX makes, or fails to make.
Nothing to do with the individual, but everything to do with the actions of CX over the years.

AHK is 9 A300 and 5 A330. CX can try A330/300 MFF but I doubt it's going to work.
AHK being part of the group, I reckon it's a bit more complicated: just look at their aircraft they are definitely painted in DHL colors.

Yea....you 'spoilt brat' cx pilots should wind your necks in. Some people on here can only dream of one day sharing a 390sq ft apartment in Tung Chung and receiving generous benefits such as partial medical cover.

and who procured the contract? All I’m saying is, ka was first, cx second, hke third, the only one left is ahk... I would be very cautious thinking ahk is going to remain the way it is, I hope for their sake they do, guess only time will tell.

If it was offered at the regional/freighter rates and scales it would be worth doing. Lets look at the facts, it is regional freighter flying. At the current offer your doing it for outport allowances. With a 35 hour flight pay trigger point and a chance to jump up a scale, it would be game on.

If it was offered, Cos18, outport allowances, pay trigger; game on.... WTF are you dreaming about !!! You will go to work "when" they tell you, you are being paid what you signed for, if they second you somewhere - go or FO!.. bla bla bla....

The only reasonable conversation on this network should be economic shopping tips, where to get little Johny or Suzy school, cheapest Dentist or which Country to go nearby to get cheap medical attention..

Anything else is mindless blather and a waste of your time which would be better spent creating meat pies you can sell at the local market to earn extra cash for that dream "every other year" vacation to Sanya or Manila, the only 2 places you can now afford!

REALITY .......

Shameless lack of dignity. I can see why they chopped one airline group and their pilots and left another intact ( CX ) .
