I do hope these idiots lose their places at University?
And are fined etc they are wearing jewelry that will be manufactured from metals using oil, clothes that will be manufactured using oil, the list goes on... So much for reducing the use of fossil fuels.

JSO identified them as music student Eben Lazarus, 22, and psychology student Hannah Hunt, 23, both from Brighton.
They called for an end to new oil and gas licences in the North Sea.
Wearing matching branded t-shirts, the two campaigners crossed a rope barrier and attached the alternative printed image over the top of the painting.
They then each attached one hand to the picture frame and crouched below, loudly voicing their concerns about the climate, before security staff cleared the room.
Mr Lazarus, who described himself himself as an art lover, said: "Art is important. It should be held for future generations to see, but when there is no food what use is art?
"When there is no water, what use is art? When billions of people are in pain and suffering, what use then is art?"

I suspect though that the staff were a little concerned by the fact that the TWA Teas had stuck their own pictures up on the priceless painting so wanted the trash out of the way.

Not the most astute form of protest I agree, but, when it comes to protests per se, JB is yet another spiritual home for those for whom protest and protestors, irrespective of the reason or context, auto triggers the " incandescent with rage " mode....whilst happily ignoring they have almost certainly benefitted from other peoples protests in the past....remember, the charmless Ms Patel is on your side here chaps...until you feel like protesting yourselves that is.
No reason they shouldn't go to University however.

Kn C does not appear to agree with the idea that these pampered, globe trotting protesters should have been left where they were. Leave them glued to the frame for a couple of years??
Think of all the airmiles they would not earn, and all the polyester that would be saved.

K&C Misses the point again.
The spoiled brats of the rich make a nuisance of themselves without any chance of bringing about meaningful change but...in the process they annoy people K&C dislikes. So that's alright then.
He is clearly a subscriber to the middle eastern prin iple 'my enemies enemy is my friend'. There are a great many things that young people could do (and indeed are doing) without the publcity but it seems like whatever gets the most likes on twitter rules the day and to hell with the planet.

it's not so much that as the "flogging is too god for them" attitude that's so prevalent here. Almost as if the posters here had never done anything wrong themselves

Ah, but nobody here is actually causing damage to other people’s property or inconveniencing anyone else whilst they do it.

Anyway she glued herself to the frame, not painting. No doubt Constable would have appreciated the courtesy.

The observant among us will have noticed that those nice people also stuck their own pictures on top of the oil painting/canvas
