Could have been any number of technical faults....

Could have been any number of technical faults. From the description it’s quite possible the aircraft suffered a flap/ slat jam whilst configuring for the approach and therefore rendering the runway...

They’ve all been removed to improve the service as it was a bit hit and miss. When working it was good, but the units had reliability issues so they’ve gone back to the manufacturer to be resolved...

It was carnage for a while but a reduction in the summer schedule means easyJet has now stabilised and back on a normal footing.

The easyJet circuits were solely for aircraft maintenance reasons. Only 1 per aircraft every 30 days. So only keeping a handful of crews current.
