Even though it is against the law in the USA for an employer to charge fees for visas.

Pretty sure E3 if for a specialist occupation. They would look at the qualifications held rather than the position applied for.
I know of biz jet operators hiring H1B pilots so won't rule it out.

If you read the Southern Air ad it stipulates an FAA ATP and first class medical and 500 hours with a part 121 carrier. Thats American part 121. Not European or Australian or anything else.

I think skywest turned off the E3 tap when new hire pay went to $45 an hour. Majors slowing hiring at the moment probably helped too.

Did some quick math and figure there are less than 200 E3...

Go for a wholly owned regional if you can. If traveling on United you will get a higher boarding priority if you work for Expressjet or Commutair compared to Mesa or Trans States.

Now let's be realistic here. Do people on E3 visas really think they will flow to AA? Last time I checked AA required a US passport or green card. Regardless of what you are told at regional level.

If the US regional uses a lawyer to do the LCA paperwork then the costs of recruitment will certainly be higher.

I know one US regional does it inhouse so the cost difference is negligible.
