Looks normal to me - In aus its standard for most airline jobs to list a requirement to be able to swim for 50 metres fully clothed unassisted, as this is competency for the emergency procedures training.
Looks fairly normal to me as well..we (UK airline) certainly used to have demonstrate our ability to splash around in a swimming pool as part of initial SEP training.

In EASA land, many companies now accept a swimming/ditching drill certificate issued by another, even if it's 20 years old! Don't believe UK airlines caught up with this though. I'm a poor swimmer. Can do just enough to stay alive, forget pulling someone for 50m. No way thats going to happen in freezing waters after a bone crunching 14 hours at altitude.

If you can have a proof of previous training done with your current employer, like just a presence list, you should be exempted. Pilots are required to do this only once, flight attendants every 3 years.

Had to do a renewal a couple of years ago in the local pool.
SEP Facilitator, with whistle attached to company lanyard, yelling from the poolside .. "Right, you've all got your life jackets on, now link arms and form a circle".
Me ... "Are you sure about that ? There's only two of us."
SEP Facilitator ... "Good point. Let's go and have a cup of tea instead"
