Question B737 APU BLEED - FCOM rev23

Hi Guys,

Im new around here and in air. I have an question about B737 APU BLEED in FCOM rev23. According to last revision, it says that to give APU bleed air after 2 full min. I wonder what is the technical reason that they increased the limit ( except the reason to extend the service life of APU) ?

Thank you guys for answers

Have a safe flights.

FCOMperate the APU for two full minutes before using it as a bleed air source. This two minutes stabilization is recommended to extend the service life of the APU.

Any FCOM is company specific. Ours still says 1 minute like it always has. It looks like your company has decided to increase it to 2 minutes in an effort to extend APU life. My guess would be that they hope that by saying 2 minutes they will increase the likelyhood of people actually waiting 1 minute before using the APU as a bleed air source.
