Paying wages from 3 decades ago. Seriously, I made a bit more than that in 1992.

In the long run it will bite them all on the @rse. Very important that Team JQ gets a decent agreement up, at this rate they and QF will one the only employers of choice long term, the others will be too busy trying to outdo each other on how little we can pay our pilots.

Alternately Jetstar Management will just give the middle finger and say ‘it is 2%, nothing more’.

Seperately , anyone who takes 175k for a left seat for this clownshow deserves what they get.
Hear ye, hear ye, the most wise oracle of Australian Aviation has spoken. Australia's eminent pilot industrial relations expert speaks, reconsider your application, wait it out, a better offer in the aviation powerhouse awaits those who take the most wise man's advice.

No really, I reckon you're awesome, most people think you're a dick, not me, you're ace.

We need to remember when hitting the submit button the message goes out via email to those following the post. Editing later doesn't change those emails.LOL

I removed a redundant paragraph. Hardly trying to hide my comments. Old mate is embarrassing himself. The less said the better in my view.

You think that’s bad you should see what they pay the Canadian offshoot ‘Flair’

LHS $118k
RHS $70k

Nothing else on top of that unless you work days off, overtime. You will make more at Air Asia Indonesia.

Looks like it will get here the same time as the Qantas groups first A321 Neo! I wonder which one will get the most media attention. I think Bonza might have had a bit of luck with their launch timing, every other domestic airline in Australia is definitely on the nose at the moment, plenty of people looking to try something new.

Fluffy media coverage won’t help get a AOC.

You launch on CASAs watch which could be this calendar year, next, or never. You will get a rough idea September ish where this will be going. Silence from all parties indicates Canberra is back and forth asking more questions.

On the nose, I don’t think so. From what I’ve seen from operating and paxing on JQ and QF all have been full, ppl are happy. Conversation I had with a family today that didn’t get out today because of a visa issue with inbound country were very happy with the service they received as the airline allowed them to change departure date without charge.

Bonza will have their work cut out for them and any sign of a good load on one of the $hit routes they’re operating any one of the 3 will put an airframe there.

Tim Jordan has already said he will be going to the ACCC should one of its competitors launch alongside them on a route (doubtful, just let them die by themselves). What are the chances the ACCC saying to Jetstar.... no you cannot operate on this route because Bonza is and they need to make money. Coles builds a new store and Woolworths follows a few years later if they get wind of some success from a new location. Nobody jumps up and down citing terminal decline. It's just business. I mean, I hope they don't go down the path of the Rex Playbook ie full time whinging. Don't bitch and moan us about your problems on some fantasy led network. Nobody asked them to start a low cost carrier.

JQ pay Captains $150k for 56 hours per month, so maybe BONZA doesn’t look so bad after all.

Some people seem to be oblivious to the fact that the first "C" in ACCC stands for "Competition". A major part of the ACCC's role is to promote competition. They would be unlikely to take action to restrict competition on any route, even a new one.

ACCC would only be interested if there was a clear predatory motive to the addition of flights. That is they were clearly aiming to operate at a significant loss just to push an operator out of business. If an operator joins a non regulated route and offers what would be considered normal competitive fares without excessive dumping of seats there would be no cause to do anything about it. So if Bonza started to make a profit with reasonable loads then a competitor joined the fray to take some of that away for their own business there would be nothing they could do.

It's correct. 200k pa for 75 hours block equates to 150k for 56 hours pro rata.

Who would want to work 75 hours a Month!

It’s not GA anymore, the aim of the game is to get paid the most for working the least. Jetstar pilots need to get into some PIA ASAP. Join the engineers and come at the company from all angles!

The only place I could find any thing like what Scooter is baldly stating as fact was Glass Door which stated an AVERAGE of all jetstr pilots that reported' If most reporting were FOs, that would explain that.
AFIK base for an A320 skipper is 225K before overtime and allowences, so Scooter might want to check his "facts"

No it doesn't, because if you only fly 56, hours, you still get the 200k.
