The first time I saw a BD-5 was six years ago at the Western Museum of Flight at Torrance Airport (Zamperini Field) south of LAX. I was surprised how small the cockpit was.

No way I could get into one at my advanced age, although I can still get into single-seat gliders.

I’m not sure I would’ve fitted into it when I was in my 20s!

From that era.
This designer might well have been related to an airship designer. They were an interbred lot.
