Neither American nor Menasco.
Most had 4cyl engine, a few variants (of which there were many) had 6cyl units.

Let's just say it's European.
Nailing it down to a single country is too much of a giveaway.
Three different engine types were fitted across all variants.
The type had some export success both within and beyond Europe.

Manufacturer was one of the great names in earliest aviation. A prolific designer.

Had an apprentice on the ramp for the first time a few years ago. I explained ramp safety including the above. He was, "yeh, yeh, yeh, whatever", and promptly walked through the prop arc.
He lasted about a week with us, sent him back to the hangar.
