Jobs for non EU cadet pilots.
Hi Everyone,
Just like this thread started as a first time post for someone, this is my first post here. I'd like to know the status of the EU market for a non EU person at the moment.
I'm from India, and I'm set to do an integrated ATPL course at an academy "FlyBy Aviation Academy" from Spain. After the completion of the course I'll have a CPL with approx 240 hrs flight time, with no IR.
I'd like to work in EU for a regional airline to get my ATPL unfrozen and to build hours. Is there a provision that allows me to do that? Or how hard is it to land a job in an airline as a foreign fresher? Is it doable or am I expecting too much? Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks all.

There is thousands of European pilots unemployed right now, plus you cannot work in the EU without a citizenship or working permit, so the market for a non EU person is non existent at the moment.
Also I will recommend you to do the IR course as it is one of the requirements for most airlines when they hire.

SolenoidHi, Yeah IR isn't included in the course that they're offering, but they do have a APS MCC crew standard certification, that might help initially? Also, I'm just starting, and the course is about 14 months long. I was hoping the industry will be a lot different then. Maybe then if some airline considers a non EU National with a EASA license, will getting a work visa be that difficult still?

Hi Dude: IR it's mandatory in order to be considered for an airline Pilot position. Also VFR operations conducted in some companies (es: TMA) require an IR rating as requirement to apply for.
Varman you need to look very carefully at what's being offered, it sounds very fishy to me.
1. There is no such thing as a frozen ATPL without an IR.
2. An integrated ATPL course is less than 200 hours - that's the whole point of integrated.
3. I have no idea what you'd be doing that would lead to 240 hours with no IR.
4. Any modular school will give you a CPL/IR with 200 hours for half the price.
More hours won't get you a job, unless those hours are on type, so an airline will look at 200/240/1000 hours exactly the same. As for getting a job, it's pretty unlikely even with the right to live and work. You'd have better luck in the US, where you can train and work as an instructor for a few years.

I reckon if the OP is from India and he has that sort of coin to blow on flight training, instead he could live in India like a King for a very long time. The piloting caper for new pilots is a mugs game I reckon. Skip the flying training idea and live like a King instead,

Hi Varman, In order to find a job with an airline you need IR and MCC course.
Also, not a single European airline will sponsor a working VISA as there is always plenty of European pilots available.
